There Are No Shortcuts To Any Place Worth Going

Today (and every day, really) I thank God for wisdom, and ask Him to continue to pour into me. In life, it’s natural to gravitate toward what we believe is the path of least resistance. I don’t know anyone who easily, voluntarily, and consistently chooses vulnerability, pain, and what appears to be hard work. I certainly don’t. I am learning.

That perceived path of least resistance may get us through a moment, a day, a week, or even years. What we don’t realize though is that when we consistently choose this path, we choose to live a life of mediocrity. It’s filled with highlights that give the appearance of success, which makes us believe we chose the right path. This is nothing more than a trick of the enemy, in my opinion. I don’t always choose the right path. No one does.

There are certain times in life however where it really matters, and has a major impact on the rest of our lives. I say on a regular basis “I want everything that God has for me” and “I want the rest of my life to be the best of my life”. When we make statements like this, we must fully understand what we are saying. When you tell God you want everything, you no longer get to walk the same path as most people on this earth. You have to walk the narrow path. It’s not always easy, but it’s amazing.

We can choose the path of least resistance, or we can walk according to what God is guiding us to do. Life is way too amazing to live unhappy and unfulfilled, so it’s up to you to choose whether you want to live in fear or in faith. Choose wisely.

Hopefully this will encourage someone to step out on faith and say to God, “I want everything you have for me” and then take that leap, trusting that you’ll land on solid ground. If not, I’ll use it to continue to encourage myself. For anyone who consistently takes that leap, share your story whenever and wherever you can. Maybe you’ll be an inspiration for others.
